Hotels, Camping & Food Options
For the 2013 race, runners and their guests (only) will be allowed to "primitive" camp the night before and the night after the race near Lake Harmon at race HQ for a fee of $5.00 per person per night. All fees collected will benefit the Park, and will be charged whether people sleep in their cars or in a tent. Important reminder: there is no security on site nor facilities other than portable toilets. Camping fee may be paid on site upon arrival at the Park.

Everglades City is the closest town with accommodations, and is approximately five miles south of the Fakahatchee Strand park entrance.

Note: Six popular chain hotels are located at Exit 101 off I-75 (“Alligator Alley”) approximately 20 miles west of State Route 29, approaching the city of Naples. This area is approximately 35 miles from the park entrance on Route 29. Among these are Comfort Inn, La Quinta, Springhill Suites and Fairfield Inn and Suites.
